Exploring The Beauty Of Bali (Day 2, Part 1)

Hiya there! As promised, here's my blog post now about our day 2 in the beautiful beautiful Bali. 🇮🇩

Finally, we had a whole day to spend in Bali. Unlike on our day 1, that we only spent it traveling. LOL. Moving over, here's what we planned to do during our day 2 in Bali:

1. Go to Ubud
2. Go to Ubud Market
3. Go to Goa Gajah Temple
4. Go to Giant Bali Swing
5. Go to Bali Race Terraces

Fair enough, we were able to tick all of these places with a plus one, which is going to the Batik Factory. By the way, we booked our tour by directly contacting a referred Balinese driver. His name is Made (pronounced as "Ma-de") and here's his mobile number, +62 813 3748 2851. Thanks to my dear "grand-daughter" who referred Made to me, to us. Made is very kind and easy to talk to, he can understand and speak English well. That's why it wasn't hard for us to communicate with him or what not. I contacted him through Whatsapp, a week before our flight. Thank God that he was available during our vacay in Bali. So, yay! 😬

Going back to our day 2 in Bali, the first thing we did to start our day was to eat breakfast. And we ate breakfast in one of the restaurants in Seminyak because breakfast is not free when we booked our villa. Though you can opt to order from them. And here's their breakfast menu by the way:

Right at the moment we stepped inside our tour car, I asked Made if he could bring us to a restaurant or food place which has an American breakfast. IDK why I suddenly craved for an American breakfast that day. LOL. But I hope I didn't offend Made when I asked him that. Well, because I didn't look for any Balinese food. Hehe. Just a couple of meters away from our villa, here was one of Made's recommendations:

Honestly, just barely seeing this was already enough for me to say yes in eating here. HAHAHA.

You know me, aesthetics first. LOL.

Ain't the place so good? Obviously, this is a kind of place na magugustuhan ko talaga. Haha.

Cute pug cake! Hihi. Hiii, Piii! 😚

Then while waiting for our food, my sister and I did some "pictorial". LOL.

Then here comes our food after! Sorry, I only got 2 pictures of it.

Nasi Lemak platter.

And Blueberry Pancakes.

In case you'll be in Seminyak, here's their signage outside. And here's their exact address: Jl. Petitenget No. 88, Seminyak, Bali.

Their food is a mix of good and "ok lang" dishes. Their pancake tasted like a typical bread because it was so thick. And that's just fine to me actually. On the other hand, their Nasi Lemak is a winner! Surprisingly, the serving is good for 2 persons actually.

After eating.. here we are.. back on the road.. finally hitting the road to Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Yayy!

Our first stop was at a Batik Factory. And this is how they create Batik clothes - they draw it manually by using a pencil and then a wax; they let it dry; they sew it; then voila! The Batik cloth is done! (Please correct me if this is not the actual process, alright? I'm only basing to what I understood from the Batik Factory staff.)

Found this while I was walking towards the Batik store. I honestly thought that this was a garbage. Apparently, this is an offering from the Balinese people for their gods since it'll be a Full Moon Sabbath Day the next day. Not sure how they really call it but I hope you get what I mean.

Meanwhile, here's a sneaky shot that I took inside the Batik store. Picture taking is not allowed inside but sometimes you just wanna break rules, right? Joke! I actually took this photo to show it to my boyfriend because he wants one. And this polos cost around P3,000.00. Mahal 'no? Haha. But that's how it is. This is purely handmade, maybe that's why it's pricey. By the way, I didn't buy one because I can't afford it. Haha.

My friend's boyfriend thought of taking picture in front of the Batik Factory that's why I followed them. Hehehe. Oo nga 'no? The Batik Factory's front yard is beautiful.

Posing posing pa si tabachoy. Hahaha.

After that short trip in the Batik Factory, we then headed to the famous Ubud Market

Rattan bags everywhere! Ahhh! My heart is so happyyy! 😍😍😍

OH MY GALIWOW! DREAM CATCHERS! RAINBOW DREAM CATCHERS! I DIEDDD! 😍😍😍

When buying in Ubud Market, one should know that BARGAINING skills is very very IMPORTANT there. The salespeople in Ubud tend to give the tourists high prices with what they sell. Do bargain with their products on a half price. Because if you don't, your wallet will suffer. LOL. Trust me. SOBRANG MAHAL SA UBUD. Haha. One ref magnet costs P100.00+. Here in our country, you can buy it for 3 for P100.00 already, right?

Speaking of bargaining, this lady right here gave me a very good price for the ref magnets that I bought for my office and highschool friends. Thank you po, ate! 💕

Also, this ate.. Her name is Wayan (not sure of the spelling though), she gave us a lot of discounts when we bought t-shirts, dresses and Batik polos from her. Pero nakakaluha pa rin yung presyo, guys. A typical Bali t-shirts costs P250.00, the dresses are P400.00 to P500.00. Then the Batik polo costs P900.00 each. HUHUHU. Ang mahal, bes! 😭But their of good quality naman, so lunok na lang at pikit matang bumili para sa pamilya. LOL.

Kyah.. Kyah.. gusto ko 'yang hawak mong dream catcher. Pero feeling ko, mahal.. kaya picture-an ko na lang. Haha.

But the ending was, I bought one for myself before we left Ubud Market. As in pasakay na ko ng kotse, biglang napaisip ako. LOLLL. Hindi ko rin natiis! That's actually what I only bought for myself, plus a Macrame, a Rattan bag and a ref magnet. Hahaha.

After buying some souvenirs for family and friends, the search for an affordable Rattan bag starts now. Haha.

By the way, nakatawad ako ng 50% off, kaya P750.00 na lang yung nabili kong Rattan bag. Mahal pa rin, besh eh! Pero gusto ko talaga, so 'wag na ko mag-reklamo 'di ba?! Haha.

Meet the Balinese guy who gave us pretty fair prices with the bags that we bought from their store. Yung katabing tindahan nito, etchosera kasi eh.. sabi ba naman nung saleslady dun.. "You're touching and touching the bags! But don't buy anything. That is bad!" Ay si ate mong gourl, umattitude? Kakainis ka ate! Malugi sana kayo! Hahaha. Joooke!

Dami kasi namin na tanong lang ng tanong pero hindi bumibili. Mahal kasi eh! Hahaha. Mga Pinay nga pala yung kasabay ko na nagtitingin ng bags sa kanila. LOL. But I bought one from them para tumigil na sa kaka-kuda si ate. Imbyerna eh! Haha. But just a heads up, P750.00 is the lowest price that they could give for a Rattan bag. I was trying to buy one for P350.00 only but I was told that even if I bought 100 pieces from them, they couldn't really give that kind of price. Well, I dunno how true that is. Hehehe.

Next to our itinerary was having lunch of course! Haha. And this is where Made brought us, the name of the place is the d'Alas. The place is so relaxing because of its view and the only colors that you'll see is green and brown. Nature feelzzz! Hihi.

Next to our itinerary was seeing the Ubud Rice Terraces, Giant Swing, etc. But gotta save it for next time because my blog is acting up. I can't add captions nor can add pictures in order. Huhu. 😢

Anyhoo, thanks for reading my blog and I'll be writing on the next half soon! Our day 2 expenses will be posted on the next blog as well.

Love lots,
Dona
